I just started mine, but unlike a few, I am not completely abandoning Medium or Beehiiv.
Diversified portfolio - multiple streams of revenue are just good business.
I am still testing the waters with Substack
What do men find attractive in an older woman?
My suggestion is to test it. See how your audience gravitates to your content on there before you make any major financial commitments.
So far here is how I see Substack helping creators:

Michaels buys Joann brand, plans to expand crafting supply to meet demand - ABC News
Easy to use and get started but I don’t see how it is easier to build than any other newsletter/subscription platform.
